You might have read Part 1 of the guitar delay and effects settings tutorial.

In this tutorial, you will learn how to arrange the tracks in multitrack session in preparation to applying effects::

Step8.) Launch Adobe audition (if you have closed it).
Step9.) You need to open the session (if you have closed the session), File –> Open session, then select the session file you have save in Part 1. Then click open.
Step10) Before you can arrange tracks, you need to enable required toolbars and other functionality. Go to View, you need to have this following functionality check if they are available in your Adobe audition version:

Adobe audition toolbars

This means check “Show View tabs”, “Show Pan envelopes”, “Show Volume envelopes”, “Enable Envelope editing”, “Enable clip edge dragging” etc. And also under “Toolbars”, you need to check “View toggle”, “View multitrack file”, “Multitrack Edit”, “Multitrack View”, “Multitrack Tools”, “Window Toggles” and “Multitrack options”.

Step11.) Once all the tracks are fully loaded in the Adobe audition multi-track, you need to arrange the four tracks into two groups, such as this one:

multi-track arrangement in groups

a.) The first group composed of track 1 and track 2. The middle portion of this group is empty but the last section is just the continuation of the audio wave (NOT again the start of the waveform).

So this means that from 0:00.00 to 0:04.636 seconds; track 1 and track 2 is playing. Then from 0:04.636 to 0:09.597 track 1 and track 2 is not played. And finally on 0:09.597 to 0:14.406 track 1 and track 2 is again played.

You can adjust the clip time dimensions in multitrack by click and drag method.

b.) The second group composed of track 2 and track 3 fills in the middle section of the original track. The time occupied by this track is 0:04.636 to 0:09.597

Step12.) Try assigning a master volume of -6dB in the mix, for testing purposes of your arrangement.

To check if you have correctly arranged your clips like according to the plan above; play the multi-track. It should sound like this one:

If not, you have incorrectly arranged your tracks in multitrack space.

Step13.) Apply minor EQ, right click on this (indicated by arrow)

Right click on here (indicated by the arrow):

The parametric track equalizer pops up:

After adjusting EQ for track 1, repeat the same EQ settings for track 2, track 3 and track 4.

In Part 3 of this tutorial, you will learn how to implement dynamic audio panning in Adobe Audition.
